Jessica

Pink, Bold, and Unstoppable

Jessica met her husband at twelve, notes passed, smiles traded, dated after graduation, and, because some stories refuse to end, reconnected at thirty-three, both certain their souls belonged together. When breast cancer arrived young and aggressive—triple positive—they answered it the way they answer everything: with laughter and lockstep love.

Photographing them felt less like a session and more like a celebration.

They showed up to our session in matching hot-pink outfits and an attitude that didn’t quit. Photographing them felt less like a session and more like a celebration. We laughed through every frame. Along the way, Jessica collected a dozen-plus wigs, every color, every alter ego, because for her, humor is armor and play is power. After her double mastectomy, she chose to go flat, and seeing the way her husband looks at her, it’s clear her radiance is what truly defines her.

She lives out loud—adorned in rainbows, unicorns, and breast cancer tattoos, with zero apologies.

She wants every woman facing this to remember: “True strength is found in the stories we dare to share.”

Through my lens, I saw all her vibrant "extra-ness," but the real transformation happened when she saw the images herself. For the first time, she truly saw her own resilience, her raw beauty, and the unmistakable power of her survival.

Jessica’s story is one of more than twenty powerful narratives of resilience and transformation featured in The Boob Project book. Get your copy today to experience the full collection of stories that are changing the conversation around strength and beauty.
